General Chair Update:
USA Swimming has launched the second round of COVID Grants application. The deadline to apply is by end of day July 10th
USA Swimming are discussing sanctions for meets in August. No decision as yet. The USA Swimming Board has clearly stated that even when sanctions are allowed, the LSC has the final say. The LSC must sanction meets in accordance with local and state COVID guidelines. The LSC has the responsibility to define how the meets will run with regard facility requirements, social distancing, mask, hand-washing, etc., etc.
USA Swimming will be sending a notice early next stating their decision about Regional Meets. Please watch for this email to arrive.
The Time Standards will stay as is until December 31st at which time the USA Board will re-evaluate. Currently, there are 1220 athletes who have qualified for Olympic Trials.
Coaches please keep a look out for upcoming Webinars and Zoom calls related to Virtual Meets and Virtual Leader Board Program. Patrick Murphy, Larry Herr and Brandan Hansen are working jointly to put together these programs.
